— Robert Dale Auter, 60, a former Covington city councilman and refreshment vendor at the Fountain County Courthouse, was fatally stricken Thursday night at a Lions Club dinner in Danville, Ill. He was a member of the First Church of Christ and the Covington Lions Club. He was a graduate of the Indiana School for the Blind. A Covington native, he was born Aug. 6, 1915, a son of Riley and Nellie Chandler Auter. Surviving are his mother; a brother, Chandler Max Auter of Rt. 1, Covington; a nephew, Max Auter Jr., of Naples, Fla.; two nieces, Mrs. David (Cheryl Lynn) Rowe and Mrs. Robert (Cindy) Hunt, both of Rt. 1, Covington; three aunts; an uncle; and several cousins. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home with the Rev. James Daniel officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.
